Palmilla Golf Club has 27-holes, which results in a consistent 18-holes of great conditioned golf. We keep each 9 hole course closed for 3-4 weeks, until the greens have had time to heal before it reopens and another 9 is closed for aerification.
What is aerification?
Aerification of the greens, tees and fairways occurs during the summer months. To aerify, a piece of machinery built for the task cores the ground, punches holes and removes the dirt in a certain pattern.
This is done to loosen soil that has been compacted by golfers walking over it, opening up growing room for the roots and increasing oxygen to the roots. Recovery usually takes a few days to a week for the holes to fill in and grow over.

Arroyo-Mountain (Ocean Closed):
June 1 – August 14, 2024
Ocean-Mountain (Arroyo Closed):
August 15 – September 30, 2024
Ocean-Arroyo (Mountain Closed):
October 1 – October 30, 2024
